Day 30

Lots of free coupons today. I'm not a fan of using them right away (as I've mentioned before) so I'll just hang onto them being the little coupon hoarder that I am. Coupons galore for Huggies from my mailer and my neighbor who passed it on to me.
Also two FREE item coupons from Tropicana points, two free Simply Go-Gurt coupons from LifeinMyLand's Blog Giveaway a little while back, two free BetterOats Oatmeal coupons from the Bricks company when I couldn't get them to print, and some Pampers points my 6 year old niece found when Grandma took her to Fred's to buy donuts this morning for those of us working the garage sale! She's turned into my little coupon helper in the short time she has been here.

Our garage sale was a huge success and it was absolutely wonderful to declutter my house a bit! I even sold a bunch of my freebies (shampoo, toothpaste, razors, ect) and people bought it up right away. My overstocks were way overstocked and we are really tight on space until the new garage/addition are finished which will be a few more months.

Anyway, that's it for today. I'm excited for the cheap grapes at Fred's starting tomorrow. My toddler loves them and I like their price this week!

Day 29

Today was garage sale day! I started it off with a FREE 20oz coffee from Holiday gas station (it was a PDF coupon valid until June 6) and I tried the Mocha Energy. Hmm...it was really, umm...creamy. I've lived in Eagle River for 4 1/2 years and this was my first visit to the Holiday station, and I sort of liked it! They had a little clearance section with stuff that made me wonder if they take coupons other than their own. I bet they do!

I'm going to try to get as many freebies done online with all my little account things today, so I'll update this post a few more times. Here's what I've managed to do so far.

1.) e-rewards is my favorite online survey site. You can sign up for either the regular rewards or the upromise one. I have mine as the regular and my husband's account is the upromise one. Today I cashed in 125"dollars" of my credit on 500 Alaska Airline miles and 2,000 Delta Airline miles. It took me probably 3-4 months to accrue that much at about 5"dollars" a survey.

2.) Swagbucks! I am cashing in again on two $5 amazon gift cards. If I can win a 39 more swagbucks today I can get one more!

3.) A quick trip to Target yielded the free items after coupons. I finally got a cashier who understood and knew how to adjust down a coupon to match the sale price. Is that good or bad?! Well, it is the way it's supposed to be so I guess it's good! At least it didn't cause a scene with a manager or anything.

I'm off to bed since the sale is again tomorrow morning!

Day 28

Here's hoping the next couple days will allow me to "go out with a bang" on the freebie challenge!
Today was BORING to say the least. I purchased my free bottle of Sobe at Fred's, had to chat with customer service over 4 of my items ringing up at a higher price than advertised.
Our garage sale is tomorrow and Saturday so there might not be a whole lot more to post about, but we'll see. We might try running into Target tomorrow night for a few things if we have any energy left.
Hope you all have a better day all around than I've had! It's one I'd like to not have to repeat. :P

EDIT: later that same evening...
Thanks to our construction guys for having Carl's Jr. for lunch today and getting the huge cups with Coke codes on them and then leaving them lay all over for me to scrounge up. The Powerade caps were nice too. I earned 25 points-almost a free Coke!

Day 27

Just a couple freebies in the mail today, a couple coupons for free Butterfinger bars from our Facebook accounts. A small sample of Dove deodorant from Wal-Mart and a Costco Connection magazine. LifeinMyLand and I always get similar mail on the same days! Haha!

I'm very happy to report that the Kraft First Taste site finally offered me the big bundle of coupons! I hope they come quickly so I can use them for the Kraft rebate, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Day 26

The mail was oodles of fun today, I guess mainly because I've been mail deprived for two days. Here we have my free subscription to Sunset, the free Gillette razor, samples of True Lemon, and the sample of the nursing care soother/gel pack things (if I ever have another baby these will be heaven!) along with some coupons that came with the items.
Fred's was kind enough to give me yet another free Sobe drink coupon and I found some Pamper points in the coupon basket. It's barely legible, but I got them to take! I had a bad experience with Kashi pizza (it was so icky) and they sent me a coupon for a free item so I could try out something else. Starbucks gave me a free drink coupon for making my drink incorrectly the first time. My mom gave me her goat cheese coupon which again I will pass on to my friend. And do you like Reser's foods? They make salsa, tortillas, the Baja frozen mexican foods...if you do and have a compliment I highly encourage you to tell them! They love compliments apparently because they sent me four 8.00 off coupons and three .55 off coupons! Wow!

We took the kiddos down to the Homestead school playground today and that wore them out for a little bit. It sprinkled off and on today so it was a little chilly. I had to get my brakes fixed on our airport car, so that was not a freebie of any kind. Ugh, oh well, you've gotta be able to stop! :)

Day 25

My neice (she's 6!) and I decided to head out to the valley today for the fun of it and go to Target and Walgreens out there. I love the Coke deal Wags had the last two days and by combining the 1.50/2 coupons I found on a peelie at Fred's (but couldn't find anymore, they went quick!) and the 1.00/1 coupon from Recylebank.com, and after RR's, we ended up paying 4.50 for three 12-packs of pop! Lovin' that!
We also picked up the Ecotrin that was a 2.00 money-maker after coupon and RR, some cheap Pringles and Chex mix (thanks for the .50/1 coupon, coupons.com).
At Carr's I used the catalina I found in the trash by the self checkout for the free Idahoan's. Also picked up a warm delight for my nephew and had a coupon and some e-coupons that made it free (plus a little overage) and the pampers codes were found at Fred's when we stopped by to pick up turkey burgers (which of course we'll submit for the Jennie-O rebate!)
So free potatoes, aspirin, brownies, and pampers points for today's installment of the freebie challenge.

Day 24

Fred's again. Yes, I go there practically everyday. I'm not a very good menu planner and I love to shop. My sister loves it more than I do, and my daughter loves to get out of the house. So we end up there a lot.
I used a couple more of my free item coupons (I think my sister and mom are of the opinion that if you have them you should use them) I sort of prefer to save them until the item is on sale B1G1 or at least less than the max value so I don't have to pay anything for it. But we decided sparkling mineral water mixed with a Sobe might be kinda good! I ended up having to pay .30 for the water because the free coupon max value was for 1.99 and of course it cost 2.29. The Sobe's were free though. All coupons were from the Fred's coupon basket exchange from earlier this month.

I forgot to mention that yesterday my mom and sister took my niece and nephew to the Eagle River Nature Center for a free Bear and Moose Safety Class for kids. Parking there is 5.00, but the class was free. They all had a fun time and now feel a bit more comfortable about being outdoors here. I didn't go because the kiddo was in the middle of her nap and she needed it! My husband just got home from his trip and he needed a nap too. So I got to do laundry. Fun, fun!

Have a wonderful Monday holiday!!!

OOPS! I totally forgot about the coupons I found today in the basket-silly me! Thanks AlaskanBargainHunter for reminding me with your post! I found a .75 OYNO (huge, I know..haha!) and 10 Pampers points. Nothing free, but we can't find them everyday. :)

Saturday, May 29, 2010

Day 23

I finally used my 10.00 Allen and Peterson gift card that I got over a month ago (sorry, I don't even remember how or why!) My sister and I went and each picked out new wooden spoons! We actually bought 3 and paid 1.00 for all 3, so only two were free.
Also finally used a couple of the free item coupons from the Fred's coupon exchange. We were just about out of coffee and milk, so these are what we are trying out this week. I like almond breeze milk, so it will be interesting to try this kind. Also purchased a box of breathe right strips with a free product coupon, but they got put away too quick to make it into the picture.
We had some free samples of different energy bars at REI (last place I'd ever think of going for samples!) and I kind of like the Mojo ones.
That's it for the Challenge for today. Mail stunk.

Wednesday, May 26, 2010

Day 20

Wow...20 days already? That's crazy! The challenge is a third of the way over and I think in a small way I'll miss it because it has been fun to go back over my posts to see just what you can find to do, sign up for, and just plain FIND for free! Today in the mail I got a super nice reuseable bag from Earthbound Farms along with some coupons. Now I can recycle one of my falling apart shopping bags.
Also in the mail was yet ANOTHER sample of pantene from Vocalpoint. (not a member, definately check it out!) It's the third sample of it I've gotten, from three different places (vocalpoint, p&g, and walmart i think?) After that is the Uncle Ben's free rice coupon.
I don't always post the picture of the FREE item I buy with the coupon, because I usually hang onto those until I need the product. Most FREE item coupons have long expiration dates, and a lot of times I can pair it up with a B1G1 sale and end up with two. That and I like to give them out to folks who I know could use a little pick-me-up now and then, or include them in a note to a friend, since they all know I'm a couponer.
How about you? Do you use yours right away or hang onto it until the day it expires?

Day 19

The mail was my friend today. I could hardly drive up the hill from the mailboxes, I was so excited! The Kraft box finally came! Although, it was NOT the one I registered for...but who cares?! Coupons for free hot dogs and free bbq sauce as well as three sample bags of sundried tomato wheat thins (which we snarfed!) and three bags of instant coffee stuff that I later gave to mom since it was caramel, eww, but she loved it.
In the mail too was the facebook sample of Pantene, and my free Land'O Lakes butter coupon that didn't make it into the picture.
Pampers points at Fred's...nothing amazingly free other than the HonesTea stuff, but you had to buy it to get the catalina making it free so I don't think that counts for this challenge. :)

Day 18

As you can see in the pictures, the mail held a few freebies. The cheerios coupons were from pampers gift to grow points and they were on sale for 200 points each last week (thanks for the extra points, my blogging friend!)
Now the hair color kits were too funny of a freebie. I was putzing around wal-mart basically killing time and found a back end cap with clearance items and these were each 2.00. I had a couple 2.00 off coupons for those exact brands. I'm normally a blonde so I'll use these when the red washes out. :)
Mom and I split a cafe sandwich from Carr's for dinner after she got off work. We can split a free one next week with the coupon you get for buying one this week. I picked up a few sale items while we were there. Nothing free, but I noticed a free SoBe drink coupon hanging on the catalina machine when I got the the checkout. Thanks to whomever left it just for me. I seriously think I might need to start liking these better or something.
Now for the fun activity we did today...
We are not fans of McDonald's. We said we'd teach our daughter that it's grodie, and hope she believes us. But today, I took her there. It was her first visit to the playplace and she had a blast. It could have been a free activity if I didn't break down and BUY some fries and a chocolate shake!

Sunday, May 23, 2010

Day 17

Well, I really had to stretch to find a freebie today!
Mom, kiddo and I went to Taco Bell after church and used the two coupons she had printed for the free limeades (I learned how to spell that correctly!). Still not a huge fan of them and definately would never, ever pay 2.29 for one.
Hopefully tomorrow will be way more exciting! Hehe!

Saturday, May 22, 2010

Day 16

So many freebies today, I can hardly remember them all! We got our birthday cake delivered to South Anchorage and it was a lovely excuse to go to Target there and a different Fred's than normal. I must have found about 4 SoBe free drink coupons at Fred's, along with a 2.00 OYNO which I promptly gave to my friend who was watching my daughter so I could dig in the basket! Later we (my friend, not daughter) each got SoBe's. I'm not a huge fan of them, but free ones I'll take. (and here's a peek of the construction project in the background)
Stopping at Target was a good thing today. I had a couple Tresseme coupons that were expiring today for B1G1 and a 2.00/1 and they were on sale for 3.00 each, but I had a lot of overage from the 2.00 dove coupons that it paid for that and for the bigger size deodorant. Matching manufacturer's coupons with Target ones is so fun! Also not in this picture is the couple packages of Rayovac batteries from the dollar spot (coupons on their facebook page).
My friend was fast enough to print the 3.00 Merona footwear coupon from Target.com and passed it on to me, and these fun flip flops were on clearance for 2.98! Who says Old Navy 1.00 flip flops are a good deal?! Free is much better. :)

This evening I went to Carr's to use my OYNO's that expired today and the self checks were all closed but the trash was overflowing...so yep, I dumpster dove and found a coupon for free Idahoan's. I love those for camping! I didn't dig too obviously, and actually cleaned up the place a bit in doing so.

Day 15

Quick post!
I have a cake order due in the morning so I've been working on that most of today. I'm wiped out! Thus, no pictures of stuff today. The cake turned out really cute and can be seen later tomorrow on my other blog.
This morning I stopped by Fred's about 830am (ugh, I know, but I couldn't find any garage sales and I needed eggs for the cake). They had a big cart of markdowns so I did buy some of what I had coupons to match, but the best markdown was the Jimmy Dean sausage! It was .99 each and I just happened to still have a $2/2 coupon so that made for a .02 overage. That can definately be my freebie of the day for Lifeinmyland's Freebie Challenge!
The mail was good. Fresh Express salads sent me four .55 off coupons, I love using those on markdown salad. Good deal.

Day 14

Today was a total outdoor day! I'm not much for the outdoors, I detest heat, bugs, sweating, stinkiness...ugh! But we did have an awfully fun time planting a HUGE garden with our neighbors. We have 23 full rows, about half of them seeded which we finished today. The rest are plant ones so we will finish those up on Sunday.
I also planted some Mint Juliep Spearmint, Pineapple Mint, and Lemon Balm plants next to my rhubarb...I love mint and fruity things so this is my little patch.

I thought today might be my first day with nothing free to post, but when we went out to clean up the garage construction site I did find some free things...Coke Reward Points! Thanks construction guys! I hope they drink lots and lots of coke this summer haha!

Day 13

We printed out our coupons from tacobell.com and my husband and I each tried the new Limeaides for FREE...they were ok. Definately nothing compared to Sonic! Mail was sort of fun today, I received my P&G Sampler box that had samples of Cascade, Metamucil, Pantene, and some coupons. Also Kraft/facebook sent out the coupon for a free box of Mac & Cheese Explosion. A couple of Pull-Ups from Costco (I don't think I'll ever have to buy these when the time comes because I get so many samples!)

And here is a wedding gift I made for free, thanks to the couple inviting us! It's made from their wedding invitation and some ribbon that I already had. Of course, we will send them something else, this is just the free thing. Btw, it's a Christmas ornament.
I'm hoping to jot down to Fred's a bit later, so hopefully I'll have more to post tonight!

a little later in the day...

We did a quick trip down to Fred's and the above items were $36.24, but I would never pay that! If you take out those 4 zucchini's it would have been -.13, but since I wasn't sure where I was at with prices, I added them and ended up paying 3.63 for everything pictured. This was after sales, lots of free coupons, and that nice 10.00 off coupon that I found in the coupon exchange a few days ago (yes, it was burning a hole in my coupon binder).

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

Day 12

I'm basically posting today so that I stay in sync with my days! NOTHING today, nada, zip. The mail was so boring, the couple samples I did get were lame, so I'm not wasting time taking a photo and downloading it. (eucerin and biore samples)
We ran errands in Anchorage and met with our builder who is going to be here bright and early to start pounding away on the new garage. Nothing free about that either, except maybe the entertainment of having a bunch of guys in our yard. Haha!

Oops, I did forget to mention that the free address labels from Pear Tree came in the mail today too. I made them for my daughter to put on her 2nd birthday invitations in October! They are really cute, but the border is kinda strange. There were 2 sheets of 24, so it was a good freebie, didn't have to pay shipping either.

Monday, May 17, 2010

Day 11

A month or so ago my husband was in Memphis and picked up a bag of Autry's hushpuppy mix and when he brought it home, I realized it had been out of date for over 5 months! Eeks! I wrote the the company, told them we live here and they sent two replacement bags via UPS! Nice!
I finally got my free turkey bacon coupon! I'm excited to try the stuff, I like turkey dogs, burgers and sausage, but have never tried the bacon.
Also in the mail was a coupon for up to 10.00 off a box of kitchen bags from GLAD. That was sent because of a problem we had with the drawstring ones.
My nice neighbor found some pampers codes for me at Fred's. Two actually, but only one made it to the pic!
We had a fun day playing outside and watching the construction guys working in our yard. Thursday is garden planting day and we are looking forward to that!
p.s. I forgot! I cashed in on my e-rewards for upromise, and transferred 50.00 to our daughters college fund! All for doing surveys in my free time!

Saturday, May 15, 2010

Day 9

Fun stuff today!Clockwise in photo: Cutter insect spray 2.99 at Fred's, free after manufacturer and Freds coupons, a 10.00 off next shopping order coupon and 10 Pampers points I found in the coupon exchange, a 10.00 off 10.00 or more at Famous Footwear, a gift card from Victoria's Secret after calling them to report a problem with their product, and a coupon booklet from SC Johnson that my neighbor passed on to me!

Friday, May 14, 2010

Day 8

Free coffee! From a coupon I found in the coupon exchange basket at Fred's! So I didn't have to make a purchase to get this one. Also in the basket I found two codes for Pampers valued at 10 points each! Yay!

And I've signed up for so many free magazines...this one is fun because sometimes they have cool cakes (see my other blog to understand).
As I've been typing this post my neighbor just brought over two other magazines, Gardening and Savuer that were put in his mailbox by accident. Those are free ones, too!
